One of the most subtle and elegant teas that you will find, White Pomegranate tea has delicate flavors which hint at the rejuvenating properties it contains. This white tea offers a blend with an almost indescribable taste, and a pale, naturally sweet cup that has gentle fruity touches. The addition of vitamin C by way of the rose hips gives a boost to your immune system and the safflower provides essential acids that are known for their health giving properties. While the infused pomegranate is a boost to your health as well as a spike of flavor to this loose leaf white tea.

Steeping instructions:
Amount of water: 6 oz
Amount of Tea: 1 Flat teaspoon
Water Temperature: 180° F
Steeping Time: 4-8 minutes.
Note: Do not use boiling water for Green and White teas as they will burn and create bitter flavors.
A good way to guess water temperature without a thermometer is to bring the water to a boil, and wait about 30 seconds (for White tea) or 60 seconds (for Green tea) before pouring over the leaves.
This is my first sample from Red Leaf Tea and I feel like I’m off to a good start. I was excited to try this tea because I love the taste of pomegranate, but I’m just a bit too lazy most of the time to go through the hassle of cleaning and eating the actual fruit. I was hoping this would fill that void and thankfully I wasn’t disappointed. According to the website, the tea contains only three ingredients, white tea, rosehips, and safflower threads, which leaves me to wonder where/how the pomegranate is worked in I followed the recommendations on the Red Leaf Tea website and used one teaspoon with six ounces of water heated to 170° and a five minute steep. The scent of the tea reminds me a bit of raspberry and is surprisingly strong. This smell dissipates during the steeping and the slightly rose colored liquid is left with very little aroma. While it’s not exactly the same as having a bit of the fruit, the flavor comes through nicely in this tea. After my first sip, I felt short-changed, as the fruitiness didn’t seem bold enough for my taste. But after waiting a few brief moments, the flavor filled in nicely and blended perfectly with the white tea. I wouldn’t classify this as a bold tea, but you don’t need to go searching for the pomegranate either. It’s light and delicate but clearly present. This would be a great tea to try if you enjoy lighter flavors. Also, as a nice bonus, Red Leaf Tea is still offering free shipping on orders of any size.

Red Leaf Tea is offering free shipping on their website for any size order, which is great! The website indicates that the ingredients in this are white tea, rosehips, and safflower threads. The dry sample didn't look like anything special in terms of the white tea (though no stems) and the ingredients are fairly standard for a pomegranate blend, though I must admit to being happy that there is no hibiscus in here. I infused about a tablespoon of this leaf in water that had bubbles formed on the bottom of my pot and were starting to rise to the top for about 2 min. The white tea used here is actually pretty good. It is not too strong and is nice, delicate and smooth. I would say that the flavor profile is similar----fairly mild. It does lack a little of the usual tartness that accompanies most pomegranate blends, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It does have a hint of tartness though and some fruitiness to it. This blend tastes very natural to me.
When I reached for this sample, I somehow expected that I wasn't going to be too enthused with it. However, this is actually a pretty nice and pleasant cup. I found the white tea base to be better than many out there that accompany flavored blends and it produced a good cup. Free shipping makes this blend a bit more economical as it is a tad on the pricey side. If you are looking for some pow in your pomegranate, then I would suggest that you look elsewhere. However, if you want a touch of pomegranate with a decent white tea base, then this is worth your consideration.

This is a gentle tea. It isn't smothered by the presence of flowers, as I find far too often in the white teas. The hint of tropical red fruit melds well and the entire production feels very civilized.
It feels like pine and poinsettia, but dulled down to a tolerable degree. This is a very personal tea. I believe in this tea. It presents itself professionally and lingers for the right timeframe. The texture is healthy.
The willowy, holiday friendly, family-oriented collage of flavors provides an experience worthy of seeking. As an extremely cautious drinker of white tea, this is quite enjoyable. I encourage those who enjoy subtle tea to give this a try.
