To better appreciate the deep sweetness of Rooibos tea, we have developed bright and fruity blend of the red leaves with several classic sweet flowers and flavors. We have mixed marigold, blue mallow flower, cornflower, and safflowers with mango and passion fruit flavors in a balanced proportion, and called it Rooibos Paradise! This is a great dessert tea, and a wonderful treat for kids. When chilled, red paradise tea makes a refreshing drink that rivals the zest of any soda!

New post
The last couple of weeks for me have been crazy and I have reviewed very little tea nor have I submitted many reviews out of my review queue, which has a dozen or so that just need to be finalized. Therefore, it is with some happiness that I find myself in the position to sit down and review tea tonight. Red Leaf Tea is a company that I have been afforded the opportunity to try a number of their blends (and hope to try many more) through Teaviews and through a personal order that I placed with them. While the results have been somewhat mixed, an overwhelming number of their blends have gotten some rather solid scores from me--especially their white tea blends. Rooibos Paradise is a very fragrant blend with a tropical aroma. The dry blend contains the rooibos and a number of flower petal shreds. I prepared this using water brought to a full boil and infused for 5 min. The resulting cup tastes of the rooibos paired with the tropical fruit flavors. I did notice a touch of floral as well, but it is largely overwhelmed by the flavor profile. To my tastebuds, this tasted more like mango than passionfruit to me, but the passionfruit did not go unnoticed. The blend is rather naturally sweet and I would hold off on any sweetener or just sweeten this lightly until you get a chance to taste it first. If you are one that likes to drink rooibos iced, then I think that this would be a good candidate for icing. Overall, the blend is sweet and tropical tasting. For some reason, I find myself feeling that the rooibos kind of dominated the mango and passionfruit a bit and I think that this may be better paired with a different tea base. While I can't call this blend a favorite, the blend still delivers a cup that is sweet and fruity.
