The red petals and green leaves used in this Hibiscus Mint tea are quite simple ingredients, but together they produce a magnificent blend. There are actually only three ingredients in this herbal tea blend, but the flavor will have you thinking that there are a lot more! The mint produces a lightness and freshness to the brew, while the hibiscus blossoms add a floral touch that is definitely relaxing. Ideal for slow sipping or for regular drinking!

I made a small pot of this herbal blend in a portable tea tumbler made entirely of glass and metal that turned out to leak and needs to be returned! The tumbler might not have worked out marvelously, but this is a wonderfully pretty, fragrant and mellow herbal blend that I really enjoyed. The nice thing about the glass tumbler, regardless of its propensity for weeping, was that the gorgeous raspberry coloring of the tea glowed forth brightly, and it was a splendid part of the overall enjoyment of the tea. If you have a glass teapot, make sure to use it to brew this tea...and a nice light colored tea cup will be much appreciated as you'll enjoy the color as much as the taste.
This tea contains just three ingredients - mint leaf, hibiscus and stevia leaf. I usually use a small amount of stevia to sweeten all of my tea drinks, as sugar dries my mouth out unpleasantly. The drawback of stevia is that a little too much yields an unpleasant, almost bitter sweetness that can ruin the item being sweetened completely (then again, I haven't much of a sweet tooth in general). I thought that I had been really careful with the amount of stevia I added so was surprised at just how sweet the tea was. When I read the ingredients on the website and saw stevia listed, I understood why it seemed so sweet. My second infusion was much weaker than the first (this tea isn't really meant for multiple infusions but I wanted another cup), but I added no sweetener at all to it and it was perfectly sweet on its own. I would recommmend, if you like sweet tea, using just a hint of sweetener with this tea, and let the stevia leaf do its work.
This tea would be fabulous iced, perhaps even better than hot, though I do love hibiscus in a hot tea. The mint flavor is not overwhelming, the hibiscus definitely steals the show. I didn't feel that the mint was lacking, really, just wouldn't have pegged that as a primary ingredient. The leaf is pretty to look at dried, brews up to a spectacular color and tastes wonderful with little need for sweetener and would be awesome chilled over ice cubes in the summertime or piping hot in the winter by the fire. That's a lot of good attributes for a simple little herbal blend.

I love mint, so any blend I come across with mint in it is a must-try. Unfortunately, most of them aren't very good; too much mint that overpowers the other flavors, or not enough mint to even detect. Admittedly, this tea comes dangerously close to the latter category, but it's still a interesting blend to try.
Upon first glance, this blend doesn't really look all that special. Little bits of green leaves, yay. However, once brewed it turns a gorgeous ruby red color (courtesy of the hibiscus, no doubt). It smells fruity, mostly. The mint is almost undetectable, unfortunately.
If the surprising color weren't enough, the taste is quite surprising, too: it's incredibly sweet, almost too sweet for me (and I have a high tolerance for sweet). Definitely doesn't need sugar of any sort, thanks to the stevia leaf. Aside from being sweet, the flavor is fruity and tangy, with just a touch of mint.
Bottom Line: If you like hibiscus, mint, or anything sweet, this should be a must-try. I personally would have liked a bit more mint, but if you like your mint mellow, you'll love this one.
