The harvesting of tea leaves is an ancient craft and there are no short cuts with the Irish Breakfast Xtra Fancy tea. Buds, mature leaves, and even stems all have unique characteristics that can be evoked and strengthened through different curing techniques. The aged black tea leaves that create the classic breakfast teas are usually very astringent. We have lightened this effect by blending gold tips from Chinese growers with a high quality Indian black tea cured according to the Irish Breakfast method. With the best of Indian and Chinese teas in one drink, we think you'll find our Xtra Fancy Irish Breakfast Tea offers the perfect start to your day!

This tea, a blend of Chinese and Indian black teas, is wonderful example of a breakfast tea. What I liked most about this tea is its versatility. When I first started drinking it, I really noticed the delicious malty flavor that was present. However, after a couple of cups of this, the lemony finish really stood out. Furthermore, this tea was equally delicious when taken alone and when taken with ample amounts of milk and sugar. While drinking this tea, terms like brisk, hearty, and fulfilling came to mind. Irish Breakfast Xtra Fancy has a robust quality about it, making it a good candidate tea for those who need an extra lift in the morning or for those that are switching from coffee to tea. I won't go so far as to say that this is the best black tea blend I have ever had, but I will note that I drank this tea continuously until my sample was all gone. This tea is an economical product to have on hand for your standard morning brew, and I would recommend this to those looking for a new morning tea. Bottom line: This tea offers a nice blend of different black tea flavor characteristics and can be consumed with or without add-ins; in all, a delicious cup that is an ideal breakfast tea.
