Earl Grey is probably the most popular tea around. Made from the dark full leaves of Orange Pekoe, this tea combines an enticing appearance with a touch of indigo provided by cornflower petals. Much more than a feast for the sight however, Earl Grey also offers a sweet and delicious aroma provided by bergamot, which also imparts a touch of fruitiness to the brew. Earl Grey is a definite classic and now you can see why!

Steeping instructions:
Amount of water: 6 oz
Amount of Tea: 1 Flat teaspoon
Water Temperature: Boiling
Steeping Time: 3 - 5 minutes.
This is a nice, solid Earl Grey tea. Not too strong, not too weak, but very well-balanced. The bergamot is not overpowering so you can taste the tea leaves as well as the lovely bergamot. The tea leaves themselves are a nice medium-bodied black tea, reminiscent of a nice Ceylon tea. Although Red Leaf Tea does not indicate the origin of the leaves, it does indicate that they are Orange Pekoe, which has nothing to do with flavor, but describes a basic medium grade black tea consisting of many single whole tea leaves of a specific size. Therefore these are not whole tippy leaves, but rather cut and blended leaves. The cornflower petals do provide a beautiful blue aesthetic touch to the appearance of the leaves, and the fragrance of the leaves both before and after brewing is delicious, with strong bergamot tones. This is a perfectly well-rounded Earl Grey, great for anytime of day.
